The paper deals with an extension of a convolution inequality of \textit{P. R. Beesack} [Publ. Elektroteh. Fak., Univ. Beogr., Ser. Mat. Fiz. 274- 301, 11-16 (1969; Zbl 0203.362)]. This result is used to obtain an inequality of \textit{J. A. Cochran} and \textit{C.-S. Lee} [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 96, 1-7 (1984; Zbl 0556.26012)].
