This paper deals with linear differential-algebraic systems \(E(t)z'(t)=A(t)z(t)+f(t)\) in Hessenberg form, where \(E(t)=E\) is a semiexplicit projector and \(A(t)\) is block upper Hessenberg. An algorithm for decomposing the solution into state and algebraic components is described, which yields significant information about the system.
