The author looks for periodic solutions of prescribed period in the Hamiltonian system \(\ddot x+ax+V'(x)=0\). Here \(x=(x_ 1,\dots,x_ N)\), \(N\geq 3\), \(a\in R\), \(V: R^ N-S\to R\) is singular on \(S\), i.e. \(V(x)\to-\infty\) as \(x\to\partial S\). The existence of infinitely many periodic solutions of prescribed period is proved.
