For a simplified version of the population dynamic model described by the equation \(\partial u(a,t,x,y)/\) \(\partial a+\partial u(a,t,x,y)/\partial t=d\Delta u(a,t,x,y)-m(a)u(a,t,x,y)\), \(t>0\), \(0<a<w\), \(d>0\), \((x,y)\in \Omega\) a numerical method and two different ways of its parallel implementation (for distributed memory parallel computers and for shared memory parallel ones) are described. Informative results of numerical tests to estimate the speedup of each implementation are also given.
