The author focuses on general multivariate rectangular Toeplitz matrices and gives a criterion for the existence of banded inverses. He applies the result to multivariate interpolation on the regular lattices \(Z^ s\). Some examples of bivariate interpolation by cubic splines and reconstruction methods based on integer translates of ripplets are presented.
