Quantum groups and diagonalization of the braid generator (Q1196673)

Let \(g\) be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra, \(U_ q({\mathfrak g})\) the associated quantum group, \(V\) a finite-dimensional irreducible \(U_ q({\mathfrak g})\)-module, and \(R\in\text{End}(V\otimes V)\) the action of the universal \(R\)-matrix on \(V\otimes V\). The author computes the eigenspace decomposition of \(\sigma R\) on \(V\otimes V\), where \(\sigma\) is the interchange of the two factors. Applications to link polynomials are given.
