The authors present numerical results on the problem of a planar moving shock wave which hits a wedge and experiences an oblique reflection as it runs up the ramp of the wedge. A kinetic equation (BGK equation) is used to model the reflection process, and a finite-difference scheme is used in its numerical treatment. The paper describes the numerical results and compares them with experimental data, but makes no attempt to put the problem into a rigorous mathematical setting.
