Homogenization and thermopiezoelectricity (Q1198377)

Some preliminary results are recorded concerning homogenization of the linear equations of thermopiezoelectricity. The analysis is performed by using the method of two-scale asymptotic developments. The constitutive relations are taken to be expressible in terms of the periodic material functions. The field quantities of thermopiezoelectricity are represented by the asymptotic expansions of a small parameter. The dynamic behavior is taken into account. The formulae are derived for the effective moduli of a layered thermopiezoelectric material. This purely theoretical research note with no applications may appeal to investigators engaged in the mathematical modelling of thermopiezoelectric laminates.
