An orthotropic plate problem is considered as a standard nonlinear elasticity problem. The asymptotic expansion method, which was used by \textit{P. G. Ciarlet} and \textit{P. Destuynder} [Computer Methods Appl. Mech. Engin. 17-18, 227-258 (1979; Zbl 0405.73050)] in the case of isotropic body, is used. There is established the existence theorem as well as the regularity result.
