The authors prove that stable constant mean curvature (=cmc) tori in 3- dimensional space forms are flat. They completely classify orientable complete stable cmc-surfaces in real projective 3-space. For this space, and for complete flat 3-spaces with cyclic fundamental group they solve the isoperimetric problem.
