New solution of Einstein-Maxwell equations (Q1200071)

In the theoretical studies on the physics of gravity, the generation techniques have greatly advanced the research for finding new axisymmetric exact solutions of Einstein's field equations. On the basis of these techniques, the authors of the present paper bring to light and rigorously demonstrate an original generation theorem by which a new axisymmetric exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations is generated from a given static and axisymmetric solution of the vacuum Einstein field equations. A physically interesting result is obtained in the final part of the article, applying the proved generation theorem to the well known Weyl metric, a procedure which leads to the generation of a new axisymmetric Einstein-Maxwell exact solution describing the compound field of gravitation and cylindrical electromagnetic waves.
