The reduction of an association scheme (Q1200686)

Reduction of association schemes amounts to merging classes in the schemes while preserving the required counting conditions. This reduction procedure can be invoked in order to derive schemes from schemes constructed based on transitive classes under a finite group acting on some finite geometry. This short paper presents an explicit instance of this reduction procedure being applied on a previously published association scheme; the latter scheme is based on projective space over a finite field.
