On functional relations. II (Q1201358)

[For part I see the authors in Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. India, Sect. A 61, No. 2, 229-235 (1991).] A result concerning a double series, in the form of a series relation involving the generalized hypergeometric polynomial \(_ 4 F_ 3\) of unit argument and the digamma function, is established here with the help of generalized Riemann-Liouville operators of fractional calculus. As applications of the result established, a number of results, both known and new ones, can be derived.
