Despite the fact of lively debates about Kant's mathematical views in the early years of our century, e.g. between B. Russell and L. Couturat, the prevailing view was essentially a negative one and Kant's philosophy of mathematics hence mainly neglected. The situation changed in the mid- 1960's caused by work of Ch. Parsons and J. Hintikka. After an introduction by the editor a pair of seminal papers of these authors (from 1967 and 1969) opens the present onthology. There follow two essential papers from the 1970's by M. Thompson and Ph. Kitcher (1972 and 1975, respectively). And then nine papers from the (mainly mid) 1980's represent the more actual interest in the topic. The authors of these contributions are (in the order of appearance in the present book): Ch. Parsons, J. M. Young, M. Friedman, S. Barker, A. Melnik, W. Harper, C. J. Posy, G. G. Brittan jun., J. Hintikka. At all, the papers give a broad survey of Kant's philosophy of mathematics and their actual reflection. The main focus of the debate, yet, is the history of philosophy. It concerns only superficially the philosophy of modern mathematics.
