Let \(R\) be a smooth complex projective variety, and let \(\varphi\) be a morphism defined on \(R\) onto a smooth curve. The aim of this paper is to show that the set of multiplicities of multiple fibres of \(\varphi\) is invariant under small deformation of the map.
