A linear stability theory is used to analyse the vortex instability of mixed convection boundary layer flow in a saturated porous medium adjacent to an inclined surface where the wall temperature is a power function of the distance from the origin and the external flow is aiding and uniform. In the main flow analysis, both the streamwise and normal components of the buoyancy force are retained in the momentum equations. The present formulation permits the angles of inclination ranging from 0 to close to 90 degrees from the horizontal. In addition, the present study provides new vortex instability results for small angles of inclination \((\phi\leq 25^ o)\) and more accurate results for large angle of inclination (\(\varphi > 25^ o\)).
