This paper presents a review of sources containing dated Greek astronomical observations (Timocharis, Aristyllus and Archimedes), a new feature in the technical literature of the 3rd century. It includes an analysis of data in Timocharis and Aristyllus. These data make it possible to determine the rising and setting of the fixed stars and also to map the celestial sphere.
