Using the topological transversality theorem of Granas and a priori bounds on solutions, the author proves some existence results for problems of the form \((p(x)g(x,y(x)) y'(x))'=q(x) f(x,y(x))\), \(y'(0)=0\), \(ay'(1)+y(1)=b\). The existence of positive solutions is also proved.
