The purpose of this note is to show that the nonstandard characterization of approximate continuity given by \textit{F. Wattenberg} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 250, 357-368 (1979; Zbl 0377.03033)] holds more generally in the context of ``continuity paths'' described by \textit{A. M. Bruckner}, \textit{R. J. O'Malley} and \textit{B. S. Thomson} [ibid. 283, 97-125 (1984; Zbl 0541.26003)].
