Real algebraic curves and link cobordism (Q1207868)

The author constructs some special link cobordisms between real algebraic links of degree \(m\) and some canonically defined links \(L_ m\). He then proves a generalization of Tristram-Murasugi type link inequalities, which apply to this situation. Along the way he obtains proofs of the strengthened Petrovski and Arnold inequalities, and gives a visual proof of the fact that the quotient of \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ 2\) by complex conjugation is \(S^ 4\).
