Given a surface of revolution whose axis is the \(z\)-axis, the author describes the construction of new surfaces of revolution around the same axis such that the solid cut off by two horizontal planes encloses the same volume as that cut off from the original surface and such that the new surfaces are composed a) of cylindrical patches or b) of conical frustra. The construction and mathematics involved are straightforward.
