Representations of the Steenrod algebra (Q1210082)

The authors establish a relationship between the Steenrod algebra and a maximal unipotent subgroup of a general linear group using the algebra of distributions, which allows the representation theory of the general linear groups --- for example, \textit{R. W. Carter} and \textit{G. Lusztig}'s work on the Weyl modules [Math. Z. 136, 193-242 (1974; Zbl 0298.20009)] - -- to play an active role in the study of the representations of the Steenrod algebra.
