Selected papers on the teaching of mathematics as a service subject (Q1210800)

This collection of papers results from the ICMI Study, ``Mathematics as a Service Subject''. This was the third study which the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) has mounted. Previous studies have been on ``The Impact of Computers and Informatics on Mathematics and its Teaching'' and ``School Mathematics in the 1990's''. The present study is the result of cooperation between the Committee on the Teaching of Science of the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU-CTS) and ICMI. It culminated in a symposium held in Udine (Italy), from 6 to 10 April, 1987, at the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (Centre International des Sciences Mécaniques, or CISM).
