This paper is a rejoinder to that of \textit{R. J. Nelson} [Theory Decis. 6, 249--267 (1975; Zbl 0318.94043)]. In it, the author essentially agrees with Nelson's analysis, and adds a discussion on reinforcement from the standpoint of automata theory. He concludes by asserting that classical behaviorism must be supplemented with some recognition of internal states, and that this is presently widely recognized; it is this recognition which the author feels is characteristic of what he calls ``neobehaviorism''.
