The mathematical work of Bernt Lindström (Q1260766)

This paper contains a short review of Lindstrom's earlier work. Four areas are considered: finding bad coins in coin weighing; the Lindstrom- Wilf identity; the shadow minimization problem for multisets and his compression method for it; and an enumerative argument on relating vector models of certain matroids is noted briefly. Enough information is given to arouse the interest of the reader in each area and to point him/her toward appropriate references.
