The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually. The main topic of the conference was to relate software engineering with engineering. In the keynote speech ``Is software engineering?'' \textit{A. Hall} explains: ``Software engineering has existed in name as an aspiration since 1968\dots we (i.e. software engineers) have still not acquired the basic characteristic of engineers our mode of working is more that of craftsmen than of engineers. The fundamental reason for this is that we do not have an adequate scientific basis for what we do.'' How to provide software engineering with rigorous scientific and engineering methods and what changes in education are necessary towards this directions is discussed in a number of the papers. In particular, the papers present the current situation of software engineering and its education, links of the education with the industry, discuss formal methods and engineering instructions integrating software engineering with computer science. Many practical models of education from various universities are presented. The book may be valuable both for theoreticians and practioniers in all fields of software education.
