The influence of microdefects on a failure of composite materials is analysed. The interaction of the polymer matrix with the surface of the solid inclusion creates a constrained layer which plays a major role in the properties of the composite. In this layer, microcracks and microvoids are placed dispersed around the inclusions and their shape is irregular. In the paper a circular inclusion and circular symmetry for the microdefects around the inclusion are assumed. The complex Muskhelishvili's potentials are used to obtain Cauchy-type integrals with respect to an unknown distribution on the cracks and/or holes. Numerical results are not presented.
