For \(n\times n\) complex matrices A and B, the authors give a formula (in terms of powers of A or B) for the matrix C satisfying \(e^ Ae^ B=e^ C\). Then they apply the above result to give an explicit form of the pseudoscalar gauge operators in the description of local gauge transformations.
