On the Milnor number of a generic hyperplane section (Q1262413)

Let \(\{f(z_ 1,...,z_ n)=0\}\) be a germ of a non-degenerate hypersurface with an isolated singularity at the origin. Let L be a generic hyperplane. It is known that the Milnor fibration of the restriction \(f| L\) depends only on f but \(f| L\) need not be non- degenerate. The author gives a nice combinatorial formula about the Milnor number of the restriction \(f| L\) in terms of the Newton boundary in the case of \(n=3\).
