The authors consider the nonhomogeneous wave equation \(u_{tt}=\Delta u+f\) with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a half space of dimension \(\geq 2\). They obtain an optimal regularity result for the (Dirichlet) trace of the solution. Additional regularity results are obtained, if the initial data and the nonhomogeneous term f are supported away from the boundary.
