The authors establish a result, of a sort this reviewer has never seen, establishing nonexistence of certain approximate homotopy formulas for the \(\partial\)-problem. Such formulas have proved useful in the reviewer's joint work with R. E. Greene, and the fact that they do not always exist in an important information.
