The authors give a new boundary representation scheme for solid modelling of polyhedra, called the winged-triangle representation. This representation is based on a triangulation of the object faces, which yields a relational representation with tuples of constant length. The set of models representable in this scheme is a Boolean algebra, therefore the intersection and difference of polyhedra may be obtained from union and complements.
