Comments to a method for finding limit points of the solutions of a certain system of ordinary differential equations and mentioned in the book by \textit{U. Helmke} and \textit{J. B. Moore} [``Optimization and dynamical systems'', London: Springer Verlag (1994)]. The authors of the letter state that they published the same method earlier [Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 17, 890-904 (1977; Zbl 0397.90089)].
