A trace formula for a certain class of operators is proved. In particular the formula is true for vertex operators of the form \[ \exp \Bigl( \sum_j \lambda_j x_j\Bigr) \exp \sum_j \mu_j \frac{\partial}{\partial x_j} \] on the space \(\mathbb{C}(x_1, x_2,\dots, x_n)\). Fredholm minors and determinants can be expressed via such traces.
