The characterization of \(H_\infty\) controllers is used to characterize positive real controllers for MIMO linear systems. The *-norm, i.e., the upper bound on the induced \(L_\infty\) norm, is used for control synthesis with structured parameter uncertainty. A numerical example for the lateral axis dynamics of the L-1011 aircraft with uncertainty only in the yaw dynamics is presented.
