Inverse problems in mathematical physics and applied mathematics may usually be reduced to solving a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind with a kernel representing a known model for the physical phenomenon. In general, this equation is ill-posed in the sense that the solution may not depend continuously on data even when a unique solution exists. The present paper studies the regularized solution method for that equation with a complex kernel. Moreover, a convergence analysis for the approximate solutions is presented and numerical examples are given.
