Algebraic groups associated with graded Lie algebras of Cartan type (Q1266282)

The authors extend to nonrestricted graded Lie algebras of Cartan type an investigation carried out for restricted algebras of this type by \textit{A. A. Premet} [Math. USSR, Sb. 50, 85-97 (1985); translation from Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 122(164), No. 1, 82-96 (1993; Zbl 0528.17003)]. Specifically, they show that for \(L\) a nonrestricted graded simple Lie algebra \(X(M:{\mathbf n})^{(2)}\), \(X\in \{W,S,H,K\}\), over a field \(F\) of characteristic \(p>2\), the group generated by \(\exp(t\text{ ad} y)\) for \(t\in F\) and \(y\in L+Fu\) with \((\text{ad y})^p=0\) and \(u\) a suitable element of the \(p\)-envelope of \(L\) in \(\text{Der }{\mathfrak A}(m:{\mathbf n})\) is one of \(SL(L)\), \(SO(L)\), or \(Sp(L)\).
