The authors consider the biharmonic equation on the unit square, and the method of solution is collocation in terms of a basis of tensor products of Hermite cubics. Versions of the problem with the usual boundary conditions are considered. The Dirichlet problem is solved in terms of the mixed problem by using a capacitance matrix. Error bounds are obtained for each type of problem, along with efficiency estimates.
