    The paper tells about Hilbert's 18th problem and tilings connected with it. The problem consisted of three questions, the first two have been solved, the third is still unsolved. A practical consequence of solutions to those questions is the tiling designed by H. Heesch (in the building housing today the Göttingen town library).
