Uniqueness theorem for weak solutions of von Karman evolution equations (Q1269076)

The authors consider an initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear system of two partial differential equations involving the second-order time derivative and the biharmonic operator in two spatial dimensions. Under appropriate conditions, it is shown that this system has a unique weak solution. A similar uniqueness result by a different method was obtained elsewhere [\textit{A. Favini, M. A. Horn, I.
