The authors solve the problem of interaction between an elasto-plastic structure and the surrounding rock mass. The solution procedure in divided into two steps: a formal asymptotic expansion of the elasto-plastic constitutive equation of Coulomb type, and numerical calculations performed by using a FEM technique. Finally, three examples are discussed. In reviewer's opinion, it would be interesting to analyze the convergence of the above-mentioned asymptotic expansion, as well as to estimate the error of this numerical scheme.
