The author provides an alternative proof of the hyper-reflexivity of the noncommutative disk algebras and gives new examples of hyper-reflexive algebras. This is done by showing that the hyper-reflexivity of a subspace of the bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space follows from a certain factorization property of linear functionals which are continuous in the weak operator topology.
