The paper deals with the concept of linkage of ideals by a generically Gorenstein Cohen-Macaulay ideal. While linkage by Gorenstein or complete intersection ideal preserves the property of being Cohen-Macaulay, linkage by generically Gorenstein ideal does not. The author gives a criterion for an ideal \(B\) linked by a generically Gorenstein ideal to a Cohen-Macaulay ideal \(A\) to be Cohen-Macaulay and a description of the non-Cohen-Macaulay locus when the conditions of the criterion are not satisfied.
