Verifying cell loss requirements in high-speed communication networks (Q1271251)

The authors propose methods for determining whether or not cell loss requirements appear in high-speed communication networks. This is given by modeling the cell loss process by a batch Poisson stochastic process. A method for approximately determining the parameters of a special batch Poisson cell loss with geometric batch-size distribution is presented using a reflected Brownian motion approximation of a G/D/1/C queue.
