The author constructs a functional solution of the problem of discontinuity disintegration for the isoentropic system of gas dynamics. This solution can't be considered as a Sobolev generalized solution. For the construction the vanishing viscosity method is used. One proves that the corresponding sequence of approximate solutions converges weakly to the functional solution under consideration.
