Application of iterates of maps on the unit interval concerning equicontinuity and its various equivalent forms (Q1273288)

The problem of equicontinuity of the sequence of iterates \(\{f^n\}_{n=1}^\infty\) where \(f:I \to I\) is continuous, \(I\) a real compact interval is considered. A modification of the proof of a result by \textit{A. M. Bruckner} and \textit{J. Ceder} [Pac. J. Math. 156, No. 1, 63-96 (1992; Zbl 0756.58031)] that the equicontinuity of \(\{f^n\}_{n=1}^\infty\) is equivalent to the continuity of the set valued map \(\omega :x\to \omega _f (x)\), where \( \omega _f (x) \) denotes the \(\omega\)-limit set of \(f\) is given. Also other equivalent conditions for the equicontinuity of the sequence of iterates are proved.
