The author studies the hydrodynamic behaviour of asymmetric mean zero exclusion processes with speed change, which is of non-gradient type. He derives a nonlinear diffusion equation for the macroscopic density in the hydrodynamic limit. For corresponding symmetric processes this was shown by \textit{T. Funaki}, \textit{K. Uchiyama} and \textit{H. T. Yau} [in: Nonlinear stochastic PDEs. Hydrodynamic limit and Burgers' turbulence. IMA Vol. Math. Appl. 77, 1-40 (1996; Zbl 0840.60091)]. The method of the present paper is essentially the same. But because the model is asymmetric, it has to be modified. The strong sector condition is used to control the asymmetric part.
