The authors study stability and equilibrium of self-gravitating compressible, homogeneous and rotating ellipsoids, a problem inspired by astrophysical phenomena. Primarily the problem was studied by \textit{S. Chandrasekhar} [Astrophys. J. 145, 842-877 (1966; Zbl 0147.44402); Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 20, 251-265 (1967; Zbl 0149.24301)], and was later reconsidered by the authors [Astrophys. Space Sci. 229, No. 2, 215-233 (1995; Zbl 0843.76090)]. Now, the authors present for this problem a system of ten equations with ten unknown functions written in dimensional and non-dimensional form, which is numerically integrated in different situations. The results are ploted in some typical cases.
