The authors treat the following problem. There is a spherical (cylindrical) shell with radius \(R_0\) in the resting atmosphere with the pressure \(p_0\). The shell contains air under large internal pressure \(p^*\) and collapses at time \(t=0\). Given the initial and boundary conditions, the problem on arbitrary discontinuity collapse is studied.
