The authors investigate the seismic response of the earth by using a quasi finite element method applied to a layered medium. The solution is found by superimposing (with continuous bonding at the frontier of two adjacent elements) three kinds of analytical solutions: for homogeneous half-space, for homogeneous full space, and for two homogeneous half-spaces perfectly bonded on their common boundary. The used meshes are infinite strips, portions of rings, and infinite radial sectors. Equivalent differential systems are derived, and the analysis is carried out in the frequency domain. Unfortunately, the paper is written in a very poor English.
